Hello world!

18 Jul

If you are in youth work, humanitarian services and child development programs, you are running a school, an NGO, or any youth project; you need to know about African Youth Initiative For Development (AYIFOD). It’s more than a social-platform for discussions and a totally unique experience. We are implementing real development projects and programs for youth and children. So we would like to incorporate you into our programs.

AYIFOD- Creates and promotes youth-led solutions to unemployment and poverty. Experience has shown us that young people are the solution not the problem- so we must encourage them to lead.

Youth problems are too many and can’t be solved by the government alone, and this is reason young people are taking charge.

We’re committed to improve the living standards of the youth through mobilization of resources for youth development, connect a community of young people around the country and provide a way to:

•        Be active in GETTING INFORMED about issues affecting them.

•        DISCUSS these issues with other like-minded young people.

•        Learn new skills and be inspired, so they can TAKE ACTION

In Uganda Youth being one of the marginalized groups of people yet more resourceful in terms of development and innovativeness, we decided to start an organization that will act as a voice for other vulnerable groups.

Youth are persuaded to join army, carry out campaigns for politicians so they are used as a stepping stone to achieve others desires. Being strong they’re seen as dangerous substitutes for indecent works.  This is a controversial point of view and here we stand “together as one” to fight against social injustices which has caused un-employment, low incomes hence poor stands of living.

Opportunities:

If you are a youth activists or a mentor you can join the Uganda Network of Youth Activists (UNYA)- This is a program of AYIFOD.

Your Youth can join other youth and are welcome to:

Participate, Teach, Express their views and network with others.

There are five main parts to AYIFOD:

The AYIFOD blogs, pages and website supports an online community of young people and is a space to; connect with other likeminded peeps, access information about global issues, discover ways to take action and express yourself by writing articles and discussing issues.

AYIFOD Write Project is an exciting opportunity for those budding journalists out there. Each year, our AYIFOD Write program gives young people from around the country the opportunity to develop writing and research skills, explore global issues and gain experience in the media industry.

Training for future, is an exciting project which started to give young people an opportunity to get involved in an after school program which interests them and boosts their skills and talents. This program gives youth an opportunity to realize the future full of hope and opportunities and make them realize their potential and own their future.

AYIFOD Clubs- These are school centered clubs with an aim to mentor the school going youth, organizing peer-to-peer education, peer-to-peer counseling, promotion of talents through Music, Dance and Drama, Development Trainings, Production and Distribution of Information, Education and Communication materials, Video shows and Sports competitions.

Premium Membership- This is the formal way to contribute to the development of this organization with an annual membership subscription, and you will directly be involved with many programs and projects and able to make decisions that work.

Who is AYIFOD Project for?

AYIFOD is aimed at ALL youth and Adults with an interest in development issues, such as social justice, sustainability, fair-trade, development, human rights and peace.
